You do have to be cautious of opinions Re: the 2.0l engine..
Unfortunately you will only tend to hear stories from people who have had issues with that engine.
I occasionally see owners boasting about the 2.0l doing 200k…it depends largely on how they are used and maintained, and a degree of luck perhaps.
Though I agree, there is a negative opinion out there, just bear in mind the above.

Its taken from mid January to now but;
Gearbox refurbished
New clutch
All successfully fitted
Collected yesterday - drives lovely
Was advised by garage failed gearbox and worn clutch is because the vehicle is large, heavy and the pug engine, gearbox and clutch is probably only just able to cope - so 30k miles wasn't a surprise to them.....
So, happy days!
