Re: Warwick duo 2019
Probably wired into the Sargent power unit so no separate controller.

Taking your question literally, it will be situated in the big wooden box at the rear right hand corner of the van, under the bench seat.

Re: Warwick duo 2019
On our 2019 Kemerton XL there's a separate solar controller, a Mate-n-Lok connector takes the solar power through a separate cable on into our EC700 PSU.
When I replaced their solar controller with a MPPT solar controller I unplugged the connection and made up another Mate-n-Lok connection. The original now disconnected solar controller is still screwed to a bulkhead,
Paul, in your van you probably have a PWM solar controller probably mounted within your PSU..

My controller is separate, I don't have ec500 or ec700.Relaxez-Vous wrote:Paul, in your van you probably have a PWM solar controller probably mounted within your PSU..

Re: Warwick duo 2019
Thanks for all your replies.
Reason for the question is, the display on the controller for the
Solar panel is continually going on and off. Even when the sun is shining.
Both batteries are showing 13v.

Re: Warwick duo 2019
If batteries are full then the controller is there to stop any further charge, so will only show when charging .

Re: Warwick duo 2019
so is yours a ec500 or ec700 as from what you are saying could be getting a over voltage spike . this is another reason for the solar mod .
the controller will not stop any further charge as Paulmold has said and is again another reason to fit a mppt controller that will maintain the batteries much better giving a longer life and a mppt will not let the system have a over voltage spike

Re: Warwick duo 2019
what was fitted to a ec500 was not a very good controller but what got fitted to the ec700 clearly was to save cost just like the heating and water heater is not a improvement just cost saving on the new campers .I would only want truma myself but the only good thing about the heater and water heater been fitted as it brings lots of work to the trade with all the problems .
for the cost I would say fit a mppt controller and do the mod but that's from all the good points I have seen
