Engine warning light
Hi all
3 week old Warwick XL just been out for second weekend away. As we set off the engine warning light came on, solid light. Apparently you can continue to drive but should get it checked out. Continues to our campsite, coming back. Warning light went off, but a few miles later came back on.
Any views on likely issue?

Re: Engine warning light
It could be several things but needs checking. You’ll have breakdown cover included with a new vehicle, Fiat Camper Assist or similar, so they can send a man with a diagnostic machine to check it. Whatever, I’d get it sorted under warranty.

Re: Engine warning light
If a red light you stop, safely and switch it off.
If a yellow light, that's usually emission's related, and probably safe enough to get to a garage then, as TW says get the fault code analysed.

Re: Engine warning light
had this happen with my Nuevo (fiat auto) we were coming down the clee hills and the gearing was low when the warning light came on.
of course was two weeks out of warranty, phoned green flag and their advise was to carry on and keep an eye on (make sure it didn't go red) phone fiat professional and book it in, their advice was the same.
the next couple of days the warning remained but the following day it stopped off and has done so ever since (about 400 miles and a couple of months) canceled the garage appointment. to many sensors these days.

Thanks all
I assume it is a sensor….how did we ever manage without sensors…. I have booked into local dealer for investigation under warranty.

Re: Engine warning light
I got a yellow engine warning light at 2,800 miles. I was away in Germany at the time so decided to attend to it when I got home, but it disappeared after a couple of hours. It has never come back (now at 18,000 miles), however at the next service they noticed the AdBlue injector had leaked and developed a crust around it. Replaced under warranty. Perhaps a coincidence, perhaps not.

Re: Engine warning light
Just got the van home after a trip to main dealers.
Apparently it had two outstanding recall, one for a clutch master cylinder, the other was an ecu software update associated with emissions. This appears (fingers crossed) to have cleared the warning light. If not I will be going back.
