Transit Engine Block Warning Light 2007 TDCI
Having used my 2007 Transit Windsor last weekend for the first time this year, shortly after fueling up the yellow engine block warning light came on. I continued on my journey after checking the handbook, and found no problems with consumption, power, etc, oil levels OK and all seemed to be OK. My village local garage checked the engine management system with a portable piece of equipment which suggested this may be a Turbo problem, he then cancelled the light, suggesting the only way to diagnose this accuartely would be to go the local main Ford garage where they would plug in to their specialist diagnostic equipment. Has anybody experienced this issue?? I am keen to find out as I understand a new Turbo is expensive, and I still have a Marquis 3 year warranty which ends April 15th 2013.!!

You might well be ok. Once the guy cleared it, did it come back on? Firing up a long-standing (& possibly damp-ish) engine may have affected the
turbo/lambda in the exhaust system,& the ECU is quite sensitive to this, 'flags it up' & puts the light on, a bit of a run & its gets hot & everything dries out,
so if the lamp stays off, all should be well.
You'd also know if the turbos failed, usually totally gutless & clouds of white smoke.
