Re: Reversing camera
Does the monitor work at all ?
Do your reversing lights work ? if not you could have a faulty reverse light switch or a blown fuse, nice easy fixes
If you have a mirror mounted monitor the control box is usually fitted above the interior light

Re: Reversing camera
With the ignition on the camera receives a 12 volt feed and then gets another separate feed when reverse is selected, if it was mine I would remove the interior light unit and check that the control unit is getting power.
Our monitor failed and I replaced it with a near identical unit from eBay that had the same electrical connections, cost appropriately £25 and works great

Re: Reversing camera
Our Broadway had the factory fit Veba setup and the camera had moisture ingress before it was 3 years old, the replacement Veba camera was an extortionate price so I fitted a very similar £25 one purchased from eBay and the quality has been very good.
It’s a lot easier to replace a faulty monitor or control unit than replacing a camera.
You could try the firm below, the chap is very helpful but I think it’s supply only.

This firm supply and fit and are also very knowledgeable https://www.reversingcamerasuk.com/contact_details.html

DRW Electronics can arrange nationwide fitting service. Must be much cheaper than your quote.

Re: Reversing camera
Who do? The dealers, there is no need to use them for anything like this find an Independent car stereo / security fitter a lot cheaper

I had my brand new van a month before I changed the rear view rubbish camera for a proper twin lens camera.

Looks good can I ask how you got the cable from the camera to the monitor , on my nuevo the cable runs above the roof lining hence the high cost replacing , it is a major job removing interior cupboards and roof lining to run a cable as a new system would not be compatible with old wiring , how dose your monitor turn on automatically, or via a switch ?

Re: Reversing camera
Has it actually been tested and the cable run is at fault, it’s very unusual for there to be a cable fault, it’s normally camera or screen

On one chanel the monitor is blue on second chanel it is distorted lines ,my thoughts are camara is failed , no visible way to remove the camara , lt looks like it is bonded to top of rear panel with a pig tail connected to the long cable in the roof , can't find the information I need

Re: Reversing camera
A very thin bladed implement worked around the camera base will free it, this should then allow the camera to pull away with the small connection bebind, tie some string to the connection before unplugging so it does not drop back in, attach new camera and use a mastic sealant to fix new camera in place, a photo of camera would be good to identify what you need

Here's howMolly3 wrote:Looks good can I ask how you got the cable from the camera to the monitor , on my nuevo the cable runs above the roof lining hence the high cost replacing , it is a major job removing interior cupboards and roof lining to run a cable as a new system would not be compatible with old wiring , how dose your monitor turn on automatically, or via a switch ?
Also this is an Exec not Nuevo
Cameras fitted above upper brake light sealed as seen, cables from there through bathroom, not now as seen here, now in self adhesive cable duct.
That takes them into the wardrobe, hot melt glued to back of shelf, then all the way fwd through the rh wall cupd's. That takes us to the above cab "bed" area, run then around the side to just above the interior light. The cable connector for the monitor etc is here too, now covered by a glued on box to protect the wiring from roof top contents.
Power taken from interior light, this is always on so the wee switch you see in prev pics is power for both cameras. They're individually switched on the monitor.
One camera is horizontal, always on if switched on and is the rear view, the other points down and is the reversing camera.
Dead simple cheap as chips and works a dream. All more or less invisible, might not do this to a nice shiny new van but this isn't and it's mine!!!

Re: Reversing camera
On our 2013 Broadway the Veba camera was fitted flush to the rear panel with a tubular threaded bolt and the cable slid up the centre, all part of the camera. The only way to access the rear of the camera meant cutting an access in the cupboard behind the camera.
I used the original wiring and fitted a new camera with the correct connections to suit the new camera. The access hole was covered with a close matching piece of Formica. When Autosleeper change a camera I think they cover the hole with a false panel exactly the same size as the back of the cupboard so it looks original.
I think it’s a stupid idea to have no access to the rear of the camera

Re: Reversing camera
Only the camera end fittings need changing, the "hidden run forward to the monitor can be reused. DWR or Reversing Cameras can provide the necessary tails.Molly3 wrote:
