Topaz Hot water tank wiring loom replacement Empty Topaz Hot water tank wiring loom replacement

The hot water tank had to be replaced on my 1998 Topaz. We couldn't get the wiring to work so got a replacement loom but now we can't get it up through the body to be able to connect it to the switch. It will only go up halfway and gets stuck.

Does anyone know how to replace the wiring loom from the hot water heater to the switch?

Or any alternative suggestion about how to get a live connection?
