Awning J rail adhesive
Hello,
Second question of the night (is that allowed?) I’ve just removed the awning J-rail on my 92 Trooper. It was screwed and bonded. Whatever they used to bond it is quite impressive stuff. Despite being ancient it has not set hard and is still really sticky. It was a bit of a job prising the rail off and removing the sticky. The multifunction tool with scraper attachment worked well and got the job done in the end.
I’d like to use the same stuff to bond it back on does anyone know what this product is. It’s white, very sticky and non-setting, if may have been a paste or even a tape (but it’s not that double sided foam tape).
Thanks for your thoughts.
Rich

You can buy it on a roll it’s W4 non setting mastic or in a tube made by various companies, I have used both the W4 and Hodgson Seamseal Non Drying Bedding Sealant with great effect
