adblue blues! diagnosis
more adblue problems.
we live near glasgow. our warwick duo (peugeot boxer) produced the dreaded "wont start" message in 250miles (not 1500 miles!) orange engine warning symbol lit up. Plent of asblue in it and filled correctly.
ive been trying to get Peugeot retailers to fix it but earliest is June to even look! I called Peugeot but they were chocolate teapot.
could be a number of things of course from easy re-set to new tank injector etc etc.
i would like to buy one of these plug-in diagnostics/reset devices to at least try and id the fault better but there are a bewildering number of them.
Does anyone have any recommendations?

I think you’ll have RAC breakdown cover included as part of your warranty/buying package. If so, they can analyse the fault with an OBD meter.

Re: adblue blues! diagnosis
Have you followed the post Adblue filling instructions - ie. switch on ignition (do not start!) and leave until all of the appropriate diagnosis warning lights extinguish on the dash?
The management system needs this time to do its interrogation of the whole system, including the level of Adblue, otherwise it stops the interrogation if you proceed straight to starting the engine and therefore the MS reference is to the previous level readings - ie. low Adblue!!

the vehicle hasnt actually broken down of course. it runs perfectly but the engine warning light (but not the adblue light) is on and the warning that i have 178 miles before no-restart message comes up.
I thought the RAC cover was for the first 12 months?

You need to check your paperwork to be sure, Victor, but if you’ve got cover, they should attend as they did for us.
Most OBD meters only read the codes and it may be that only a Peugeot garage will have the software to reset your EMS.

Cheers. Anything is worth a try although it wasn’t even half empty when the warning came on. The first time a years or so ago it was a 1500mile warning ( my first encounter with adblue!)gef wrote:Victor how about topping up to the brim again its not easy to depress the gate but it could reset the system

Yes. The problem is that I can't get a Peugeot garage to look at it before June. Apparently they put warranty jobs in a queue with at least a 4 week delay. I'll not be buying another Peugeot ever!

When it reaches the point when there are fewer miles remaining than the distance to your local dealer, maybe drive there and park somewhere causing an obstruction. It won’t then restart, as it will have passed 0, so they would have to do something…

Quote from Victor Johnson, "I'll not be buying another Peugeot ever",
I wonder if that will be the same for many people. With Peugeot's parent company Stellantis introducing a new business model for their dealerships, others like JCT600 may sever their connection with Peugeot. My understanding is that for new vehicle sales it involves the dealers acting like agents, the financial side of the deal with new cars will be with Peugeot direct. Dealerships will do warranty work, servicing and the sale of 2nd hand cars. The Peugeot van side of the business is also changing.

I'm probably not too rational just now cos I'm p*ssed off!
the last Peugeot i owned from new was a 405 (many moons ago). A really good car. I'm very disappointed in the service.

You don’t need to involve Auto-Sleepers to make a claim on the Peugeot warranty. Peugeot’s own system will have the warranty expiry date set to 3 years from date of first registration. Auto-Sleepers will have paid for that extra cover up front.

I checked on the wayback machine and AS changed that page in Oct 2021. Before Oct 2021 that page (warranties) page stated that the Peugout assistance was only for 12 months.
I bought my van in Sept 2017 and so I had 3 year Peugeot European recovery and never knew it. Bad show Autosleepers.
