I think you can guess from the illustration that it's a showering device for outside for perhaps washing the dog or your muddy boots. Often they have a retractable shower head but that one looks as if you plug in a shower attachment.

Great wee hand held shower as Paul says, we had one on our 59 Symbol some years back.
Ideal for washing of dogs and muddy boots.

Thanks Paulmold and burlingtonboaby. We don`t have a muddy dog but will be useful for other things, just now need to find the right hose attachment ! ( Pauls link seems very close)

@GWR if you can't find a nose match, and you're handy with DIY you could swap the outlet for a modern Bullfinch one:

AS technical dept have now confirmed this was not fitted by AS when new so fitted later by one of it`s previous owners.
Now just have to try and establish what make it is ( remove it and check back of unit ? ) or fit a new more recent make as recommended in above post`s.
