Re: X250 vans corrosion resistance
Apologies to the OP for taking the thread off-topic.
Hopefully Ianm67 will see this as just an initial glitch - the forum is actually very helpful when you get to know it!

Stick around buddy, there's a load of good info to be found here.ianm67 wrote:I have no issue being polite with people. I was rather suprised at the abrupt tone of the response from Paulmold which was far from welcoming or polite. He's obviously very important based on his huge post count. I wasn't even asking a question, I just made the mistake of making a contribution to a post about corrosion issues on my van and immediately got jumped on. Lesson learnt I guess.
Corrosion is a never ending story. My friend tried Lanoguard, he seemed happy with it, though I should guess it's an annual treatment in high 'traffuc' areas.. where they get road spray. His vehicle smelled like a sheep shearing yard for a while....
I go under all my vehicles in summer, and treat the chassis with waxoyl after a good pressure wash and wipe with the wire brush. Any bare metal gets anti rust treatment, primed, chassis black then waxoyl.
It's not the O.P.s question as mine is a VW t4 Clubman, but it is 26 years old. Put the effort in.....get longer life

Paulmold wrote:Ianm67 - apologies if my response came across as abrupt. We have so many new members who , as Freelanded said, ask a question without saying hello and disappear never to be seen again, this has happened a lot just lately.
It could be good if you were to start a thread on areas of the x244 model that need careful checking before purchase , this could save a lot of heartache and money for the inexperienced.
And by the way, I'm not important, just been here for 12 years and probably over half my posts were a welcome to new members during the first years of this forum.
Thanks Paul.

Re: X250 vans corrosion resistance
There are some rude people on here, starting with the forum administration, I wrote in asking why my age needed to be displayed with each post, what relevance that has in the modern world and could it be removed please. I received an exceptionally rude reply from the "Admin" saying I had signed up to when I joined (certainly not knowing it would be required for display).
There can be useful info on here, but it can be quite cliquey, maybe just read it as a guest ......
