MOT Query re surface corrosion Empty MOT Query re surface corrosion

Just passed MOT for my 2005 Autosleepers Inca EL. Advisory Information on MOT states 'both front outriggers slight surface corrosion"
My question is, what are front outriggers and what, if anything should I do about the corrosion? Garage said not to worry they would check nest time. scratch head

I'm not really familiar with your vehicle, however as a generalisation; outriggers are chassis components that support the body out side the main chassis...I.e. Chassis extensions...to the side of the main rails.
Surface rust is generally considered cosmetic, however...best to wire brush and coat with an anti rust product before it becomes an issue.

I'd love to get an MOT with just 'surface corrosion'.
With my Duetto I'm getting used to 'excessive corrosion' being mentioned, rather a lot, which is keeping me and my welder busy!

On that advisory,  I would take that as you need to get a full underbody corrosion prevention applied. As it is the start of rust. That is not a good thing. there are many company's that offer this service.  http://www.carrusttreatment.co.uk
