Re: Weather
It was a cold damp walk this morning so we took the short route. Muttly certainly got a move on the way back. According to the weather forecast it’s supposed to be dry and bright if a bit chilly tomorrow so we will have a day out and a walk round the nature reserve at Whisby.

Mrs A gave me some good news yesterday, you've got two numbers on the lottery, £30 she said. Oh wait, it's three numbers, £58. No, she said, I'm wrong, it's four numbers (now I was paying attention ) £198
As much as she tried she couldn't get it up to 5 or 6 numbers though
Well done Tony. 2 fish suppers then.
Teaming down all morning, lots of surface water on the roads, resulting in some minor shunts.

Re: Weather
We did go out yesterday, and got soaked. It got worse into the evening with high winds and driving rain. The temperature is much the same at 6°c, it's still raining but the wind has dropped. We might get a brief respite later but we has a yellow weather warning from the early hours of tomorrow.
Take it easy

Re: Weather
Lovely bright day if a bit chilly in the breeze. We made it to Whisby as planned but it was packed. We couldn’t get in the car park. We normally park at the back to overhang the grass but that bit was four deep so we went up to the view point at Scampton to have lunch and re think things.
It seemed a waste of a nice day to go home so we moved to Normanby Hall. It was busy but there was plenty of room on the grass car park. We had a walk round the grounds followed by a hot chocolate in the stable yard.

Re: Weather
Quite windy with lots of rain lashing against South facing side of house. Weather warning for rain in place until after lunchtime.
Been to Tesco and usual flooding blackspots in town centre starting to flood. Suppose only to be expected when most of town centre is built on what used to be Eastern end of Forfar loch

Re: Weather
We're on the cusp of the two yellow weather warnings for today, it's dull, dark, dank and pouring down. Still 7°c but the forecast is suggesting a big drop to near freezing tonight.
Had to laugh at the news item last night, telling us about the unusual event of all the planets being in the sky and visible at the same time. What sky

Heavy rain and wind last night but drying up now, Sainsbury's was like a ghost town at 0730 this morning, wonder if that will last long as the usual panic buy starts because they are shut for one day. Plenty of everything on the shelves.
Have a great day all

Re: Weather
Rain has cleared for now and it's 2°c. Still dull and cloudy so I guess there's a high potential for more of the wet stuff later.
We got informed by our council that bin collections would be a day later because of the holidays. So we didn't put ours out, and they came as normal yesterday

Happy Hogmanay to all those sporting the kilt and all those that aren't!
Year is ending on a grey damp but still warm note in the SW Cornwall, light breeze and sporadic showers.
Forecast is not much different looking ahead.

I'm to fat to get my Kilt on Gh, probably not bother with the bells this year.
Have a good day, hope 2023 turns out better.

Re: Weather
Misty damp but no frost. Heard some fireworks just after 10pm but must have been asleep for the bells.
Lots of excitement near us last night which we followed on local faceb**k page, just after 7pm reports of sightings of a ferret in a street couple of hundred yards from us. Appeals for anyone who had list one. Half an hour later someone posted a photo of said ferret running into hedge. "Just grab it behind head and keep hold until owner turns up"...Aye right!. It was caught and put in a box about 20 minutes later. Next picture posted was happy young lad reunited with his pet. Better than the telly
A guid new year tae ane an a'.

Re: Weather
Torrential rain right through the night, the sound was louder than the fireworks (only one household somewhere close had a few), now stopped raining - no it hasn't, chucking it down again.

Re: Weather
Same weather as Bilbo, misty and damp. The gauge says 2°c but it feels much colder than that, there's sleety rain on the way so our traditional new year's day walk will have to wait. Lots of fireworks here starting about 8pm and going on until well after midnight. Some have worked out that you get a very loud bang when the fireworks are set off between two buildings
A happy and peaceful New year to you and yours
