Linking van to home alarm system
Just thought I’d share this as it might interest some others who hadn’t considered this. We tend to stay on club sites and its more than likely if someone was to break into our van that it would probably be on our driveway. We’ve got CCTV etc anyway but I wanted to link our AS to the house alarm. I did something similar with our old coach build Swift but this time as well as contact sensors I added a motion detector.
If anyone opens the back doors, smashes a window, opens a cab door or opens the sliding door - either the motion detector or contact sensors will set off the (loud) house alarm. Simple to install, I used existing screws for the motion sensor so its easily reversible. We keep the blinds all closed to avoid any external motion setting it off - so far so good.

Any outside motion should not set off alarm, motion detectors do not work through glass.

We don’t have a house alarm but a friend of mine has quite a large workshop attached to his garage. He had a remote sensor linked to his house alarm fitted. If I have read this right that’s what you have fitted.
A good idea to hopefully protect you’re van from the low life’s.

If you don't have a house alarm , get what's called a driveway alarm (warns of anyone coming down your driveway before they ring your doorbell). You put the motion detector inside your van and the alarm in the house, they are battery operated but mine has lasted over a year. Anyone who opens a door will be detected even before they enter if you place the detector in a strategic position.

We have the UtraSecure 3G alarm in our van which has a 110DB sounder inside the van, it's LOUD, the linked remote sounder is in the house
The alarm calls the 2 programmed mobile numbers and sends a text message to both as well in the event of an activation
