Towbar for Broadway FB
I've decided against carrying my 2 ebikes (combined weight 55kg) on the existing rack of my 7,2mtr long base Boxer based Broadway FB. With the large rear overhang I have concerns over the stresses on the rear panel. So am consequently considering fitting a towbar as a safer option to make use of my existing Atera Strada ebike carrier.
I have tried contacting Witter but have not had much joy as their site only appears to fit to the shorter Boxer based vans. Can anyone offer any advice on the fitting of a towbar to the longer Broadway or indeed if the fitting of a towbar is feasable to this model. I clearly do not want to be in the position of cutting panels and or rerouting pipes etc.
Any advice or guidance would be much appreciated

Here a screenshot of Watling towbars showing the Broadway FB, chassis extensions required...

Hi PaulMold thanks for the information, this is looking extremely more expensive. Exploring another option I could perhaps replace the existing Fiamma rack with the Wind down model to facilitate lifting the ebikes on and off. Would I be correct in assuming that the original mounting plate location would be the same for the new dropdown rack and/or perhaps racks from other manufacturers eg Thule. I don't want to have to drill additional holes in the back panel. If that is the case do you know the practicalities of fitting a piece of aluminium section across the whole of the width of the van to spread the weight of the mounts. Hope that makes sense!

Re: Towbar for Broadway FB
I really have no experience of the fastening of racks perhaps a call to the factory would help.

I wouldn't be putting the weight of two bikes at 55Kg and , say, 15Kg for a rack or towbar on the extreme rear of any motorhome with an overhang such as the Broadway has.
IMHO.

I understand your point and have considered other options such a a towbar requiring chassis extensions. The original factory fitted rack is a Fiamma and plated at 60kg. so still confused and doing more research.
Thank you
