Tow bar Electrics
I have a 2014 Windrush with the EM 40. I have spoken to Sargent today and they think it will have the VLM5 fitted. So to fit a tow bar I can purchase the cable to connect to the VLM or make one. They have said that the VLM will be towards the rear of the vehicle.
Does anyone know where this is likely to be? It is not behind the main power system under the cooker. I can see the charger under the bunks which has a cover but I cant see the the VLM5.
Anyone got any ide where it will be?

SO I have been out and had a look at the back of the EM40. The picture is a little blurry, but there is a 3 pin box connector marked Towing with nothing connected.

On my coachbuilt 2019 Nuevo its on the floor under the cooker where the pans are kept. This won't help you though. It makes a clicking noise when the indicators or hazard warning lights are on which isn't the same as the clicking that comes from the dash. This might help you locate it. The Windrush looks to be a PCV. I don't know if PCVs have a VLM5. Someone on the Forum will know.

Contact AS with your build number, they should confirm if VLM5 unit was fitted originally. As your EM40 towing socket is empty I suspect it was not installed.

Thanks for your help. Quick response from Autosleeper and they confirm it does not have the VLM5 on the Windrush.

Re: Tow bar Electrics
Just to help other Boxer owners, I used a dedicated kit that sits behind the rear light cluster panels. The cables then come out through the grommets hidden by the bumper cover. A cable is then run to the fuse box or battery and use an inline fuse. Cable tie to the bottom of the vehicle.[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
