Reversing Camera Monitor HELP!!
Hi All.
Before I purchased the Warwick it was fitted with a new reversing camera and monitor. All OK until I noticed it will only
work by switching it on via the remote. This is an pain I want to correct. Whilst fitting a Dash Cam recently, I noticed
loads of wiring under the panel next to the drivers seat that was obviously to do with the reversing camera. I also noticed
that the wire with "Reverse" written on it was not connected to anything. I assume that if I connect this wire to the right place
it will make the camera come on only when reverse gear is selected. Assuming that this is correct, has anyone got any idea where
this wire should go?
The Model is a VEBA AV 70mm.

Re: Reversing Camera Monitor HELP!!
If you type Veba into the forum's search field you'll find numerous threads on the subject. The one at the link below may be helpful.
The wire marked "reverse" is meant to be connected to the reversing light feed, but which cable that is I have no idea. If you can find a wiring diagram for your van (the automotive wiring that is, not what AS will have fitted) then you may be able to identify it by the colour code on the cable. On mine the reversing feed is found under the curved wheel arch trim in the driver's foot well. When I have a moment I'll have a look under it and get the colour code.
When you get the camera working using the remote do you get a reasonable image? I ask because the small Veba camera tends to give up the will to live at around the age of your van, if not newer. if the camera is giving a poor image quality then you might want to consider a wireless system and avoid the search for the reversing feed. Others may be able to offer advice on wireless systems based on their experience.

Thanks Tim, I would really appreciate the colour you connected to. I know the loom that you refer to and have tried the green and grey wire as recommended by someone, but no luck!

Re: Reversing Camera Monitor HELP!!
Just had another look. stripped out all the wire coverings near the driver and found
10 million wires but not the colour I want. Checked the colour on the reversing bulb
and it was Grey/Green, can't find anything like it, anywhere!!!
Checked out Green wire which someone suggested, but no voltage with ignition on or
off and reverse selected or not selected.
Someone help me before I go crazy!!!!

Re: Reversing Camera Monitor HELP!!
I’ve just been able to check in the van and the camera’s reversing cable is connected into a white/blue (as distinct from blue/white) cable as in the pic below.
Hope this works for you.

Re: Reversing Camera Monitor HELP!!
Hi Tim.
Found 3 White/Blue wires but connected to one that showed live when reverse gear selected. Now if I turn on via remote, screen is fine until I select reverse gear!!
Then I geta blue screen with "No Signal" on it. If I turn the remote off and select reverse
I just get the blue screen with "No Signal" It is still not operating correctly.
Got any ideas??

Re: Reversing Camera Monitor HELP!!
I think there are two video feeds, that can be changed in the remote menu (the button at the East position)

Re: Reversing Camera Monitor HELP!!
Darn.
OK, thinking aloud, the camera and the display are receiving 12V from somewhere because you can get an image using the remote, and I think you said that previously you could get an image regardless of whether you were in reverse or not. I’ve never had much success using the remote so I don’t know if I would ever have been able to achieve the same on my van. I assume the display supplies 12V to the camera when you select that mode using the remote.
In the current state, it seems the display is receiving 12V when in reverse but not the camera. There could be two reasons for that, either there’s a missing reverse feed to the camera, or there’s a mode that can be selected using the remote that enables an image to only be displayed when in reverse.
I’ve just had another thought … I seem to recall the Veba display can accept two camera signal inputs. Maybe it’s displaying the output from a (non existent) 2nd camera. If my thinking is right it should be possible to toggle the display between the two cameras, using the remote, and get the image from your camera.

Re: Reversing Camera Monitor HELP!!
Ploughin beat me to it. It does seem a plausible explanation.

Re: Reversing Camera Monitor HELP!!
OK! Swapped the inputs over and after a little playing with the remote,........All OK!
Select reverse with engine running and camera/monitor comes on. Out of reverse and
it goes off. I've also got full control with remote!!
Once again Guy's! Thanks for all your help!!
Ray.
