Topaz Driver Seat
Hi Everyone.
Newbie here, I've just bought a 2008 Topaz to replace my 2005 Trooper that I sold last year. We love the luxury of the loo . However, we're having a slight problem working out the bed arrangement. All of the pictures I've seen show the driver's seat rotated through a full 180 degrees to make up the beds, but I can only get it to rotate through 90 degrees! Either the steering wheel or the bench seat or both get in the way. Am I doing something wrong, is the a cunning knack to this?
Any advice much appreciated.

Re: Topaz Driver Seat
Steering wheel must be in its uppermost position(not lowered)
Seat back must be wound forward ie clam like Arm rest fully down. Hand brake must be OFF, wheels blocked and in gear.
Then with the seat freed-ed from its fore and aft locked position, and able to be rotated, one needs to jiggle the
the positioning slide in order to face the sear rearwards. Some of there actions are mutually dependant.
(Make sure the slider is fully forward to enable the seat pad and insert to be fitted.)
This rotation is best done when outside and working through the drivers door.
It can be done from the inside if wet with the drivers door slightly ajar.
When happy, wind the backrest up to required position (just in contact with the steering wheel in its raised position)
Reset hand brake

Perfect! Many thanks Frederic, I guessed it would be something fairly obvious.

Agree with Frederic fiddly job but gets easier with practice can be done from inside cab make sure your legs are not in the way. After 8 years I still forget to push seat belt floor socket down far enough. If you have any tall items in door pocket eg maps etc or behind seat remove these as well.

Many thanks. I think I’ve got it sussed now. Just a bit worrying that you have to let the handbrake, especially if you’re already on chocks!

Leave in 1st gear or reverse as required van will drop a little so go slightly higher on ramps or use chocks on ramps if you have some, don’t worry it works fine

Re: Topaz Driver Seat
We use the seat infills as a settee back rest and cover with a throw, this has been discussed on forum before and backrest is in loft as we only use the singles setup.

Re: Topaz Driver Seat
Have to say that the first thing we did with our Topaz (2003) was remove the ‘Captains Seat’ armrests and make up four acrylic discs to cover the holes in the seat upholstery. I’ll refit them in the unlikely event of selling the van. Long live the Topaz!

Re: Topaz Driver Seat
We used furniture gliders with a suitable bolt stuck in back centre for the aisle ones
