Re: warning deactivation airbag light
We had a warning a few years ago and the advice was to disconnect and reconnect the plug / socket under the passenger seat. I did this and have not had any further problems.
There is a firm called Crashdata who repair the airbag ecu and they seem to have a good reputation. It would be worth while looking at their website anyway:

Re: warning deactivation airbag light
Had the dreaded airbag warning light end of September - just before the MOT! Tried a couple of the tricks mentioned in previous threads but no good. The reviews for/opinions of Crashdata are mixed - a lot good but quite a few others for whom it didn't work. My local garage (good guy who'll fix things rather than replace, if he can) advised against trying to repair, so... He managed to locate a new airbag ecu (only 13 in France at the time) and had the new unit fitted at end of October. Airbag ecu was £359.63, programming & labour of £90 (inc VAT) so just shy of £450. Fitting included a new earth wire as advised in the technical note supplied with the new ecu. Poor earthing may be the cause of failures.
Good luck:)
