Duetto near side seat seems stuck
Just got our Duetto Le,
When changing the seats into beds, I'm pushing the lever to bring the near side single seat forward. It goes about halfway & then, Won't go any further. What am I doing wrong?

Re: Duetto near side seat seems stuck
Hi there,
Push it all the way back and then check the channels as the slightest bit of rubbish in there may make it stick.
Next, if you have a safe under the seat, check that nothing like a key or something similar has fallen out of the safe and into the crack.
If all this fails then try rubbing a bit of candle grease on the runners and work it backwards and forwards.
Also, when it is forward, the back of the seat itself needs to be angled quite a ways forward before the bed will drop into position.
Hope this helps and best regards,

I'm talking about the single rear seat next to the sliding door, not the passenger seat next to the driver

Hi there,
Sorry about that.
In that case then i suggest that you look and see if the seat belt is catching in the mechanism or maybe the clothes in the basket are getting in the way or the feet are catching on something like a mat on the floor. (I know the latter is daft, but it caught my wife out one night!!)
Best regards,

Whilst I don't know the fitting which you describe, the symptom sounds exactly the same as I often (but not always) get when converting the Clubman's bench seat to a bed: the nearside bench (only) has a release lever in the centre, just below the horizontal cushion; to slide out the bed it's necessary to move the lever either left or right (can't recall which) in order to unlock the bench, and then it's possible to slide the bench forward. However, when the bench gets to halfway, it stops - and I have to repeat the unlocking by pushing the lever again. Sometimes the lever is very stiff at that second point; it's also awkward to get at it - so I always move the nearside bench first in case I have to do this 2 stage unlocking.
If I have described your symptoms, try my solution!

I had the same thing happen when demonstrating to a friend having done it dozens of times before. Turned out to be a screw in the slider had come undone enough for the screw-head ro catch in the slide.

Re: Duetto near side seat seems stuck
Ok I took the rear passenger seat cushions completely off today and looked at the runner. Interestingly says symphony 1999 on the sliding frame!
The runner nearest the door is stuck, it goes halway and then seems to stop on some sort of internal jam. but it looks like a near impossibility to remove the runner, as it won't go forwards enough to remove all the screws. I'm initially at a bit of a loss, so any help in this area would be very grateful.

I expect it is a similar arrangement to my Harmony as well.
Any chance of getting some WD40 into the runner and move it back and forth?

Problem solved!
After lots of wiggling, there are these little black plastic end stop grommets. For some reason the runner had managed to go over this and then jam itself, so it couldn't go forward. Got it back over the grommet, then Took the grommet out, all working now, yipeeee.
