Duetto side windows
Hi, We have a 1994 model 1995 reg Duetto, the offside side window, the outer rubber has bits breaking off it. Is there anything available to replace this? Has any member replaced the glass windows with the acrylic type, as seen on some 1995 models. Thanks Janet and Brian.

Replacement window rubber seal
Pretty sure that the seal is standard Ford part as sliding side windows appear to be same as in Tourneo minibus models.
Noted on Transit Owners Forum that a firm called Seals Direct was recommended; easy to google I think.
They will probably know exactly what the profile is that you want and supply it much cheaper than Ford.

Rubber seal paint
Sorry, forgot to mention this from Frost Restoration, which may be worth consideration.
Not tried it myself yet, but looks interesting and simple to apply. £27; wire wool prep and it fills cracks and rejuvenates rubber; apparently.

May, or not be, cheaper parts cost than replacing seals but possibly easier to execute.
Would love to know what success you have as "Bertie`s" side seals are similarly degrading whilst other window seals are fine.

Re: Duetto side windows
Hi Thanks for the extra info. I think our rubber is a bit far gone, broken away in places, to use the rubber seal paint. We have found though, Seals Direct are at New Milton in Hampshire and in a few weeks we are going to the New Forest, so have phoned them and will call to see them. Thank you once again for your help, I will let you know how we get on. Janet and Brian.

Re: Duetto side windows
Hi again, Well it was a bit of a waste of time going to Seals Direct, they don't do anything like we want. They suggested we contact Autosleeper, which we did, to be told they only fit the windows in the top, the van comes from Ford with all the others. We have tried Ford, to no avail, has anyone any suggestions where to try next please? Brian and Janet.

Hi Janet and Brian - our side window seals are pretty grim too - I wondered if you have had any success with sourcing new ones? Thanks and best wishes, Denise

An obvious suggestion is to try a breakers yard, they must have Transits and some of them will have windows + rubbers in good condition.

Window seal
Just had to replace a window assembly in my Flair due to a broken window. Ford quoted £970 to supply it. The replacement eventually came from a much newer scrap transit on E Bay and came with a really good seal. My old seal was starting to split. Took around 45 mins to fit by an ex auto screen fitter.
