Air suspension Mercedes Sprinter 2021
Hi Everyone
My towbar on my Sprinter keeps grounding any suggestions for a simple system on the rear as I do not want to add too much weight.
thanks Alan

Not very much information to go on!
A bit more information might illicit some feedback.

What height should the towball be? The EC Directive 94/20/EC states that the towball height should be between 350 and 420mm with the vehicle in the 'laden' condition.
If your towball is less than this, the towbar mounting bracketry back to the chassis mounting could be the problem, could be too low and illegal and would fail an MOT. It should not ground when loaded. Go back to your Air suspension installer and have him check it out, he should be able to adjust the base ride height of the air suspension to cure the problem.

If the towbar is grounding when going on ferry/ramp, I believe you can add a couple of small wheels to the towbar to help,

Alan,
VB-Air (fairly sure they have a current spec Sprinter system) and Mick @ Specialist Automotive Products Ltd +44 (0) 1302 215296.

I would like to hear from anyone who has had Semi-Air suspension fitted to their Mercedes Sprinter. Although the ride quality is soft, it still "crashes" over sunken drain covers, potholes and broken surfaces.

Gemdeco; is your Sprinter a "Burstner Lyseo M Har"? If so, you might be asking on the wrong forum. My Stanton tow-bar has plenty of ground clearance but, of course, it has a short rear overhang. If you have a long rear overhang that has a massive bearing on the situation; semi-air suspension should help if correctly inflated.

Hi
The main reason that I post on the AS Forum is that they have more Mercedes based MH's than Burstner, for information I cannot fit VB semi air to my Mercedes because it has a "lowered chassis" this may only apply to German built motorhomes
regards
Alan
