Re: Lost 12v system t4 trident
We have just resolved 12v problems on our Trident 2002 and it was a relay problem.Alfiebow wrote:Very weird 12v system working fine but now its stopped, no fridge & control needle on panel not working. Any ideas please?
The location is under the bonnet, just above the van battery.
There are three fuses and three relays. Change out the fuses for new ones first as they are cheap to replace.
Then check the relays.
There is also two fuses around the leisure battery area. One for the fridge and one for the heater.
Good luck and let me know how you get on.
Regards Bob.

Are you on ehu or relying on batteries, is your battery flat, not enough information to diagnose the problem

Thanks for the quick responses. I have checked the 3 fuses under the bonnet & all good, havent seen the extra 2 fuses mentioned though will have another look as it sounds like it might be them as fridge was ok but now not. Next its relays i guess. Everything works fine on EHU but once disconnected nothing works.

My advise is buy a new set of relays and store in the van.Alfiebow wrote:Guys i have just removed the 2 relays above the leisure battery & cleaned the terminals......it works....!!! Thanks so much for your help, were currently in Anglesey so can relax ,& enjoy now....Cheers Dave
It would have saved up a lot of hassle when our 12v went off the rails in Scotland in the middle of nowhere.
I have a box now with 3 relays and all the fuses I need and more.

Re: Lost 12v system t4 trident
We should form a T4 Trident group, lots of good information already. We have just had ours for a month now and also love it, just perfect for 2 people who get on Its been to Wales in the rain and off to London in the sunshine soon then more plans for the summer.
Only problems we have had so far is horizontal rain seeping in around the trim over the sliding door, a couple of rattles and that erratic water pump, which we will have another look at when we fill the tank on site this week. Electrics touch wood have been fine now I understand how the switches work, but may be sensible to buy some fuses and relays as mentioned if we do a longer trip.

Just note down the codes on the relays and order them.mac111051 wrote:Hi, can i ask were you got the relays from and what do you ask for,Retirerehirelife wrote:My advise is buy a new set of relays and store in the van.Alfiebow wrote:Guys i have just removed the 2 relays above the leisure battery & cleaned the terminals......it works....!!! I've used [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] before and they are quick and the prices are pretty good. As RHL says, the markings on the relay will almost always tell you what spec they are (with the help of your favourite internet search tool).
