AS Trident - Propex Blown Air Heating System
I have recently become a member of ASOF - apologies if this is posted in wrong forum.
I have recently purchased a 1992 Auto Sleeper Trident which has the optional Propex blown air heating system installed.
I was lucky enough that my vehicle still had the original manual with it which provides a lot of information including operational instructions for the cooker, fridge, and blown air heating system, etc.
As the heating system only has one switch and a temperature dial I thought it’d be straight forward. However, I am unable to get the blown heating system to blow warm/hot air.
I am selecting a temperature with the dial and then pressing the rocker switch to the left which has a picture of a flame. Some blown air comes out of the two vents at floor level for up to 10 seconds however it then stops. There are two LEDs on the system, one next to the dial which light green, and another next to the rocker switch which lights read when switched to the left.
Am I doing something wrong, or does it sound like there may be a fault?
Any advice gratefully received. Thanks in advance.

It appears there is more suited forum for my question than this one. I’ve posted this in the Technical Issues forum but appear unable to delete from this forum.
If there are any Admins/Mods who can delete this thread please do as I would prefer this to be posted in the correct forum. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Update: My post in the Technical Issues forum appears to have been deleted. I’m now a bit confused!

As Propex heaters are only fitted in van conversions, I've deleted the post in technical as it won't apply to all models.

Your heater will cut out is the flue is blocked, or it is not getting a gas supply.
The way I light mine is to turn the temp dial to max and then switch it on, once the van is warm enough, turn the dial down until it clicks off. It should then maintain this temperature.

Thanks Frank, I’ll check the flue. Do you know if it uses 240v when hooked up or still leisure battery? So I can rule out the battery being at fault.

No - 12 volt only. When on EHU it will more or less be getting 12v from your PSU / battery charger.
As your van is an older one [like mine] you will probably find that you can still use your 'caravan' 12 volt supply when the engine is running. Later vans have an isolating relay to stop this.
My Propex heater is not too fussy about battery voltage but the water heater is. Sometimes it [water heater] will only light if the engine is running and pushing the voltage up above 13 volts - could be worth a try if you don't have any joy with the flue?

Inside the Propex heaters of this age there are two 1/2" disc self-resetting thermostats, failure of which is not unknown. Such a failure prevented mine from lighting.
As it's a gas appliance, you should seek specialist 'Gas Safe'-qualified help if you still can't get it working.
