MOT success and Tyre Life
My AS just passed its MOT with flying colours after having sat unmoving since Nov 2019.
Tester told me of new MOT requirement on tyre age, only for Minibus and HGV this year, but expected to apply next year to cars. Tyres over 10 years are a Major Fail.
I had intended changing mine last Spring but Lockdown delayed that.
Just need to sort the Hab battery now which suffered through prolonged lack of use.

Re: MOT success and Tyre Life
Manufacturers were pushing for 7 but TRRL said subject to inspection and care a tyre should last 10 years

Hi
I am pleased to see a recommended maximum tyre life of 10years, I think it is a realistic time frame to work to.
regards
Alan

Possibly more important is it gives a defined answer to the subject of many a thread on here
Guess I need to do something about my spare. As an engineer qualified to assess tyres I'm quite happy with it as a low speed get me home but it exceeds the 10 by a bit
