Oil Change
So, I have a 6 month old Broadway FB and have managed to do just shy of 5000 miles already. When I started the van last week the change oil warning came up.. which seems a little odd for only 5000 miles. It obviously doesn't need new oil, so any thoughts people? Is it merely there was no factory re-set when I brought it or something more sinister.

Re: Oil Change
Try this......
Turn ignition on till oil warning light shows....................
Turn ignition off.........................................................
Press throttle and brake pedal all way down..................
With pedals down turn on ignition until warning light shows.......................................................................
Turn ignition off.........................................................
Release both pedals..................................................
Warning light should hopefully be gone when ignition turned on.

Dealer
I am glad someone has posted this. On our 2019 model (4,500 miles), same fault. The local Dealer advised 'no sir, can't be reset by yourself, you must bring it in to the dealership'. Took it in, they reset the light as advised above (in one minute) and I was on my way. Very frustrating as it was a 80 mile round trip. GRRRRRR.

Re: Oil Change
This is all to do with oil change being required at a mileage or time limit such as 20k or 2 years whichever comes first. The vans sit around for months before conversion, then sit at dealers , so the 2 year can come up when vans have only done low mileage some as little as hundreds not thousands.

Re: Oil Change
I had the same warning light, the Peugeot dealer would only reset it after checking the paperwork they had on Motorhomes, otherwise they would not reset and charge for an oil change, something to do with warranty and servicing I guess.
Luckily they did reset for me.

Re: Oil Change
out of interest before you do a reset what did it say if you go into the service miles by pressing the mode button and the head light up and down button .this then shows the next service and next oil change miles.

Mmmm I hadn't thought of that, I'm going to try the re-set procedure as detailed earlier first. Interestingly the dealer I brought the van off some 6 months ago (Nick Whale) have been as helpful as ever and told me to book it in to a Peugeot garage for them to do.... not helpful really...

Re: Oil Change
So did Nick Whale not give you the paperwork on hand over that David has shown above as they did with myself
Yes you can reset yourself but if done correctly as per the paperwork and done by Peugeot will now have a log against your reg

Re: Oil Change
There is a school of thought that suggests that oil should be changed every year irrespective of mileage. I must admit that's what I do and every other year have an interim service.

Re: Oil Change
Totally agree with Cooperman
Ours get changed every MOT, incl filter of course irrespective of mileage
Oil is slightly hygroscopic this water will drain to the sump, then be circulated round the engine.
Another must do of mine is that it gets a good hard run, at least 40 miles driven hard to get not just the engine but also the gearbox ect hot too. Not a quick run down to the shops, that's as bad as it gets for it.
Same for Volvo petrol car as well, neither do more than 5000/yr each,
Far and away the cheapest, and most important part of any engine is the oil, and saving by keeping it till the scheduled mileage is not worth having IMHO.

Yes that is what I do also, never change on mileage alone.cooperman15 wrote:There is a school of thought that suggests that oil should be changed every year irrespective of mileage. I must admit that's what I do and every other year have an interim service.

My MOT chap also told me to give it a good blast like you say at least once a month, just like white man does.IanH wrote:Totally agree with Cooperman
