1991 flair carpet lining removal

Evening all,

Hope this post finds you all well. I'm current in the process of gutting out my 1991 flair and was wondering if it's possible to remove the old carpet lining off the pillars and the fibreglass roof etc?  I've searched Google and YouTube, but there only seems to be videos or advice on how to install it and not remove it. Would it be possible to just cover it over with new lining? There's some bare patches where it's worn over the years and it just disintegrates when you touch it. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated :-)
