I'm trying to remove the trim surrounding the blind on the driver side window but I can't figure out where it's attached.

My main goal is to run a cable down the right-hand side to where the heaters live and up to the cupboard where the control panels are. Will I be able to feed the cable through easily or will I need to dismantle anything up here?

Do you mean the plastic trim around the blind itself? IIRC the top and bottom rails unclip and then there are small screws underneath. Be careful as you take it off, as they are quite fragile when removed and it's fairly easy to break the corner joints!

Unfortunately for work like this, A/S did not assemble their conversions with ease of disassembly in mind, so adding cables can be a pain. It's sometimes easier to go the long way round. On our Trooper we routed additional cables down inside the VW factory-fitted plastic trim on the B-pillar, because getting that off and on again was a lot easier than removing the A/S fitted panels! But bear in mind that this was on a T5 - a T4 may be different.

My apologies, I didn't make it clear. I mean the plywood covered with faux leather that surrounds the blind assembly.

I've just managed to pull three corners free except for the one I need so when feeding the cable through it gets stuck where the green stretch carpet meets the faux leather. It's quite a puzzle figuring out how they put this thing together in the first place...

Unfortunately the cable I'm running isn't long enough to go up the B-pillar route; that looks like it would have been easier.

Would it be daft to suggest you use a longer cable??   scratch head

I'd guess that it's a pre-terminated cable such as the ones you get on some remote displays for solar controllers. But that may not be an issue - both of the types that I've installed have used standard RJ45 network cables, and you can get them pre-terminated in any length you want, within reason. For long runs you might need to worry about the Cat. rating, but it's probably not critical.
