He's also got a Pollensa for same price, I've reported both.

I might reply to the seller like Atom Shrimp does. Just to waste their time.

I do that with phone scammers pretending to be Amazon or BT.AutoSleepy_Don wrote:I might reply to the seller like Atom Shrimp does. Just to waste their time.
No idea what price he had (which is the usual giveaway) on his ad as it's blank now but Ebay should be more proactive checking new ads before letting them loose. They don't seem to have any process in place at all as the ads go public within minutes of being uploaded.

Some years ago , you could not only report dodgy items but you could also report dodgy sellers which saved a lot of time reporting dozens of items that scammers after have listed. Shame they stopped that.

The seller is likely some innocent person who got their account hacked.
The miscreant will hijack a different sellers account tomorrow.

Re: Another scam !!!
I has mine hacked once and the first i knew about it was when i couldn't access my account. When i eventually got in touch with ebay they told me "suspicious activity" had been spotted so they locked it. I was ok to continue with the same username but had to create a new password. I don't use ebay that much now as i got fed up with them taking pence wherever they could get it....even taking a percentage cut if you charge postage which is mean minded.AutoSleepy_Don wrote:The seller is likely some innocent person who got their account hacked.

Re: Another scam !!!
It's true that Ebay got really greedy a few years back, but they have (I believe) been hit hard by Facebook - a lot of people seem to like the informality of selling on FB.
Ebay's response - the £1 max offer - is really good if you have high-value things to sell. I recently sold an £800 pair of speakers - total cost £1. And they include shipping in the £1 as well (though obviously I didn't ship the speakers!).
And I hate to defend Ebay too much, but they were sort of forced into charging fees on shipping, because too many people started taking the mick by listing (say) £40 items at £5 + £35 postage, just to avoid paying the fees!
