Broken key Empty Broken key

Post by Dynamic Wed Sep 02, 2020 10:57 am

I have just managed to break my ‘Thetford’ key which unlocks both the loo cassette door and the gas locker door on my 2010 Duetto.
Does anyone know if Thetford or Autosleeper supply such keys?  Fortunately I do have a spare so will try to get another cut but just in case.....
I stupidly left the key in the gas locker lock and then opened the sliding door!!!!
Any advice greatfully received.

Probably a Zadi lock/key? Does it look like this? Should be a number on it 9***
Broken key S-l500

Contact these to see if they have your number, or replace with new lock. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Probably cheaper to get one cut at Timpsons. AS have a minimum charge of £5 + postage.

Many thanks for the quick replies.  I suspect it is a Zadi lock/key as it looks very similar although it says Thetford on the rubber top.  Will try Timpsons first for cost and convenience!
Thank you for help yet again.

Slightly off topic, but the design of the Kingham makes me giggle - you can lock the toilet cassette door which is inside the vehicle behind the back doors Over-designed I think! Or maybe over-cautious!

Same with my Duo, it's behind the side sliding door.

At handover for our WXL a few weeks ago the dealer said always to make sure the access door for Thetford cassette is locked as there re instances of the caps from the drain nozzle being stolen. Presumably when the original has found its way down the chemical waste point during emptying!

Yes, that's one mistake you only make once!  so_sad
Cap now placed down on the floor well away from any drain access.  up!

I am convinced that, either, toilet emptying stations use the cap diameter + , say, 5mm as a design requirement, or they are all measured and the caps are designed to be 5mm under!!
