HELP!! BROKEN SPEEDO
Hi everyone. I'm hoping you'll be able to offer me some advice.
The speedo on my Peugeot Autosleeper Symphony 2002 petrol 1997cc isn't working. An auto electrician came out yesterday and said I'd need a replacement but having spoken to Peugeot they no longer make these. I've looked on Ebay but there's nothing suitable and I'm not really sure what I'm looking for or what might be compatible with my van.
Also is anyone able to send me a picture of what the instrument panel should look like in my van as it appears that someone may have had a go at replacing it.
Thank you very much.
Stacey

Re: HELP!! BROKEN SPEEDO
Hi, we had a 2004 Pug 2.0HDI ,the speedo totally died when travelling to a service/MOT ,good timing ! It turned out it was a "sender" from the gearbox and a quite easy fix, had one in stock and fitted it during service (Chelston Motorhomes). Didnt touch the dash at all. Hope this helps ,best of luck with it Regards Paul

Speedo
hi, agree the most likely fault sender unit in gearbox if electric or cable, easy to take out and either spin the gear end or if cable spin end of cable, they either strip on the small gear or become loose.
Hope that helpsjohndean ( retired Peugeot engineer )

Re: HELP!! BROKEN SPEEDO
Hi
I had a Fiat Ducato that developed a fault in the display panel. It would have been very expensive to replace but I found a company that repaired it. They were very good and helpful.
Try giving them a call or sending an email describing the fault.

Re: HELP!! BROKEN SPEEDO
the first thing is remove the sender wipe the end off as this gets bits of metal and stop sensing

Re: HELP!! BROKEN SPEEDO
No I haven’t unfortunately. It wasn’t the sensor or the cable as suggested The van is now in the garage having some welding done underneath so they are going to send the whole unit off to someone they use to see if it can be repaired

Sorry to hear that, think I might have an issue with mine. Local garage cannot source the parts.
God luck with repairs.
