Warwick free standing table
New van so just finding out - the free standing table may be a bit cumbersome, or maybe we will get used to it. How do you all get on with it? Have you found anywhere better than over the cab to store it? Is there a table top available that is bigger than the small one in the wardrobe? Are we going to spill red wind over lovely furnishings if we knock the legs? Love to hear how you use it and stow it, or changes you have made.

Re: Warwick free standing table
We overcame the storage problem of the big table by leaving it at home in the loft.
We use the small pedestal table and leave it in place full time. For eating, we made a slide on 'over table' top which allows space for 2 dinner plates which the supplied table does not. When not in use, the 'over table' slots behind the driver's seat, although probably won’t on the XL.

Ours is in the attic. Best place for it unless you are a very agile midget! (Can I say midget these days?? )
Our solution below swings out for quick stops, and when having more than a snack we use a Fiamma tripod table as well or instead of, which is less likely to trip us up.
We often use just the swing out table anyway, which I confess is down to idleness, but it works for us.

Likewise in the loft with some other bits, from the van.
Outside use we have an alloy table that has adjustable legs and folds up very small in it's own bag.

I bought a lightweight table top off eBay, put a folding single leg and two hook on brackets fitted off-centre to hook onto the coffee table bar on the back door.

Our table is in a container storage unit. Tried it and it’s too cumbersome. If someone finds a good answer we’d love to hear.

We store ours in the toilet room, clipped to the wall with turnbuckles. No problem at all, its out of the way until needed and an easy move when required.

So's ours, only ever used in the awning, otherwise it'd be at home. At least now its not in that ridiculous storage in the over cab space!

I thought these free-standing tables had been got rid off and replaced by large and small pedestal tables and holes in floor for the poles.

Paul that may well be the case in newer vans, mine is 2013, its predecessor was 2011, SPOSPE's is 2014.

Mines 2010. But the opening post says freestanding table and that's on a 2020.IanH wrote:Paul that may well be the case in newer vans, mine is 2013, its predecessor was 2011, SPOSPE's is 2014.

Interesting, as they also say the free standing table stores above the cab? Don't know, you're more likely to!

Re: Warwick free standing table
Just looked at Duo and XL on AS website and can clearly see pedestal holes in floor at the back towards the doors. So is the OP referring to a pedestal table as freestanding or is the spec different to what is shown on the website. Or do they come with a large free-standing and a small pedestal one with a choice of floor holes .
I don't even have a second table as I don't have the floor holes.

Yes our 2016, mod 2015, has a small table fits in wardrobe and has pedestal for two holes in floor, we have a rear diner, slit o/s sofa and the freestanding one came secured in the overhead storage, hence is now in the house loft.

Re: Warwick free standing table
Thank you for all your comments. For clarification our 2020 WXL has one pedestal hole at the rear by the back doors with a small table that clips into the wardrobe. The freestanding table is stowed in the overhead space.
Having thought about it after reading the comments we are thinking of a bigger table top that will stow behind the drivers seat against the wall of the washroom and a second folding leg (as there is no post hole). Some research needed.

Re: Warwick free standing table
Your dealer may well have a second hand table top at a minimal price, specially if you are not too bothered about a perfect match. I got one for a tenner.
Fiamma legs are probably the best. There was a thread on here a couple of weeks ago with plenty of info.
Could be useful to you. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Like others ours stays at home and we use a smaller pillar mounted one with the boss off set to give a longer overhang

Re: Warwick free standing table
You can get them both in the wardrobe .you need to move the little table across to the right hand side laying on its long edge, move the hanging rail up a little enough to clear the free standing table which will fit on the left hand side re using clips or purchase new ones.

In our case the very small wardrobe is needed for clothing

In such a limited space everything is a compromise and it come s down to individual priorities. It is interesting that there are so many possible solutions to the problem and we are so grateful for all the advice.

Agree, clothing to stop the French wine moving about, surprising how many bottles the wardrobe can hold, not this year thoughroli wrote:In our case the very small wardrobe is needed for clothing
