Vinyl covering roof of Trophy
Hi,
I've now discovered that it wasn't the Japanese 1st owner of my Trophy, that took a dislike to the cream, and covered the sides with white vinyl, but the guy from whom I bought it. It looks brilliant from the ground, almost new, but the roof is 95% bare and the cream original is looking tatty by comparison. How easy will it be cover the roof with vinyl - assuming I can climb up there!!! do I scrape or just clean the roof, and is there any special adhesive, or does the vinyl stick naturally by suction.
I also want put a 100W solar panel on the roof - is there any way of avoiding drilling through the roof?

First re solar panel
You will have to drill through the roof to pass the electrical cables through, quite a big hole actually. However they will pass through a gland which is glued to the roof, using Bostik Simson, or Sikaflex or similar.
As to fixing the panel down, Google Photonic Universe and find these....
As to the roof covering, you could consider vinyl wrapping there'll be someone near you who does it. If you do, or indeed use something else be sure to cut it away where the solar panel mounts are glued onto the existing roof.

Here's the cable gland.....[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
