Symbol shower tap

I need to replace the mono block mixer tap for the shower in an early 2006 AS Symbol. The back of the tap can be reached through the small
hole in the back of the wardrobe, but I can't get to the braided pipes to detach them as the connections are low down near the wheel arch
between the bathroom wall and the outer skin of the van. Can any member advise how you access this part without dismantling the entire bathroom?
