Trident large table post
We have bought a 2002 Trident though we wont be picking it up for the next 2 weeks.
I wondered if anyone would be able to measure the post size of the large table as we wanted to place it outside and wondered about ordering the Fiamma Table tripod stand for it. Or if anyone has a tripod stand, does it fit the large table post on the Trident?
Best Wishes from Bob.

Re: Trident large table post
Hi Bob and welcome.
As far as I know, it does and it doesn't!!
Ours doesn't! We have a Fiamma Tripod which is excellent, but the tapers on the leg are not quite the same as that on the table socket so it wobbles. Or at least it did before I replaced the table socket with a Fiamma one, which is far more stable. The posts and sockets used by Autosleeper are not interchangeable . . . on our van.
The messages on here are unclear. Some members have found the same as me, while others have said they had no problems, and the Fiamma leg fitted their A/S sockets perfectly.
Not much help I'm afraid as it sounds as if A/S have fitted slightly different components over time - which comes as no surprise!!
I would suggest your best bet is to borrow a Fiamma leg or tripod unit and try it for fit. No doubt an accessory showroom would let you do that when they are open again.
Hope this saves you buying the wrong part.

As regards table leg size for use with tripod, I assume you are referring to the length. Standard leg is 70cm. If you use this with a tripod it will be far to high to use as a dining table. Short legs are available (though fairly hard to find) to enable you to use it outside.

Didn't think of that Paul. Bob said, "Does it fit?" so I was thinking of the sockets.
No doubt he will enlighten us.

Hi. I have a 2002 Trident and may not live too far away from you (at Dronfield, Near Sheffield). I use a Fiamma table leg with a tripod all of the time and, if you would like to check out whether this would be suitable for you (or any other issues with this model), please PM me and I'll let you have my address.
Cheers.

Re: Trident large table post
I met the problem of length when we were given a Fiamma tripod and could not source a tube/leg of an appropriate length. But I did have a spare leg of the standard length and decided to shorten it. Not as simple as first appears. You cannot simply remove a piece from the end as this removes the taper section. My solution was to remove a piece from the middle and then join the two remaining sections with a carefully turned (on a lathe) length of timber. A couple of screws through each piece of tube secured the insert. Photo available if necessary but it's not very informative. Keith

Thanks so much for the offer.
We eventually sourced a used (short) post and metal stand off ebay.
