New warwick
Looking to buy new but has anyone uprated to 4 te and is this likely to avoid the new tax

Many have upgraded to 4 tonne, its just a paper exercise. I'm not certain, but I believe if when it is first registered the weight is 4 tonne you would avoid the tax. I've no idea of the situation if you replate after first registration.

Perhaps the dealers could uprate for first registration and then downrate for sale to anyone who has given up their C1 entitlement at age 70?

Gef I am going to uprate to 4.5 t before my tax runs out. I tried to get dealer to do this from new but never got done. the kemerton xl can be 4.5 max with no mods the dealer could have saved money as the tax is less for over 3.5t . check the tax price for a motor home that would have been over 3.5 from new as they have been up rated from new the same as you are saying
