Awning light
We have a 2018 Kingham. As of this afternoon the only time the awning light goes out is when the engine is running. When stopped it comes on regardless of whether the control panel is on or off and does not react to the switch. Anyone got any ideas please?

Re: Awning light
There is an option for "Awning Light Operation" in the advanced section of the Sargent control panel. Could it be something to do with that?
I would take a look at that and if that leads nowhere then I would try a hard reset of the Sargent system (EC500 EC700 whatever you have).
The awning light might go off if the Sargent system is shutdown (as opposed to just switched off).

Re: Awning light
This may have something to do with it.
Extract copied from Kingham 2018 handbook
3.9 Awning Light Operation
The awning light is control by the control panel awning / aux button. The awning light is also
linked to the remote door locking. If the doors are locked or unlocked the light will illuminate for a
short period of time. This is a dealer configurable item.
As stated in the previous post, the Sargent system probably sets the duration of this. Check handbook for setting event timer and scroll through event timer menu to see if duration is an option.

Re: Awning light
This is the "Dealer Guide" for the EC500 (700 may be similar). [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Run time can be varied from 0 to 60 sec, so no permanent on. May be a fault in the EM40 unit.

Just been playing with my control panel settings and may have the answer to your querry should you not have found it yet. In the settings menu there is an option to have main and or awning lights to come on with power button on panel. If awning is selected to on it will come on with power button and remain on till panel is shut down, which will also happen if engine is started. Sounds very much as you describe.Select off for awning light in this setting and it will come on and off as reqired.

Re: Awning light
Thanks for all your advice. Answer was much more mundane. On the Kingham, next to the step button are two switches accessible when the sliding door is opened. One is for the awning light and overrides the control panel. We must have inadvertently caught it. Doh

Re: Awning light
Another case of things becoming over complex. What's wrong with a simple switch by the door?
