VW Topaz 1998 - Waste Water tap

Has anyone able to offer advice on fitting a new waste water tap to the waste tank? The exit hole measures 26mm but is not tapped. I found a possible replacement, but there is no way of fitting it, as I can't get a nut inside the tank.

Hi Alan, If this is like our Duetto I had to drop the tank to gain acsses to the inside of the tank. There was an acsses pannel on the top of the tank to enable me to fit the back nut.
Dropping the tank wasn't too bad with it balanced on a trolley jack.
I took the opertunaty to replace the tank support rods and waxoil above the tank.

Thanks for this, Dave. We're going away this weekend, and unfortunately I don't have the opportunity or means to get under the Topaz to see if I can drop the tank as you have done. I think I'll do a temporary fix with a water-butt tap and some PVC Weld adhesive and see about getting it up on a ramp after we've finished our travels.
