VW Topaz 1994 - Water Pump

We found our 1994 VW Topaz has developed a water system problem, in that even when the the water taps are off, as soon as we turn on the pump, water comes through the taps. It sounds as if this is a replacement task, but can anyone direct me as where the pump is located and enable me to replace it?

That's not a pump problem - that's a tap problem! The system on that age of A/S is a pressurised system. The pump runs until the pressure in the pipes rises and it shuts off. It sounds like the tap washers are failing to seal properly.

Thanks - I thought that at first, but why did it happen simultaneously on both the washroom  and the kitchen taps???  I'm truly mystified. We drained the system for the winter and only when filling up again did the problem occur.
Can you help me know how to replace the washers? (They are not like normal domestic taps!!!)

I've never owned a Topaz so I don't know exactly what taps are fitted - sorry!
