Autosleeper Trophy Floor Swollen
Hi,
While testing the water system in my recently acquired Trophy I noticed the floor just behind the table leg socket was very damp. Further investigation revealed water coming out of the carver heater flue vent. I suspect the pipework from the onboard tank to the pump may be compromised. The floor is still drying out but has started to swell in the affected area. I have a couple of questions regarding finding and fixing the leak and repairing / replacing the floor.
Does the outlet from the onboard tank run under the floor to the pump?
What is the floor made of - just ply or an insulation and ply sandwich? Would it be possible (required) to cut out a section of the floor to get access to check pipework? Any thoughts on viability of patching the floor?
Any likelihood that swelling will disappear once the floor is full dry?
All helpful suggestions welcome.
Thanks
Gid

Re: Autosleeper Trophy Floor Swollen
I have partly answered my own question. Floor looks to be made from 15mm chipboard with basic insulation under so swelling is not going to go away. I think I'll cut out the bad section and replace with a 15mm marine ply removable section so as to get easy access to the pipework in the future.

I didn't want to say it, but sadly A/S at that time just used cheap-as-chips chipboard. So, as you say, it won't get better when it dries.

No problem. I could make a feature of it . I was concerned that it might be some form of bonded insulation sandwich so chipboard is a result
