Towbar for AutoSleeper Trophy
I have just been told by my local fitter that he would find it very difficult to fit a towbar to my Trophy because of the "washroom overhang".
The reason he gave me is that the shaft of the towbar would have to be very long from the chassis fitment to the trailer connection point.
I trust this guy and wouldn't want to do anything damaging to my van or dangerous on the road but before I give up I would be interested if anyone's had a towbar fitted and would receive any of your comments with much gratitude.
Happy new year to you all,
P

Re: Towbar for AutoSleeper Trophy
I'm not certain, but I understood due to the positioning of water tanks and overhang of the add on GRP pod on the Trophy that it wasn't possible to fit a towbar?
I think I would contact Auto-Sleeper for clarification before entrusting someone to carry out such work.

I am in the same predicament. I have seen a Trophy with one fitted, wish i'd stopped and taken a photograph.
There are Companies advertised in the back of MMM/Practical Motorhome that will build a bespoke towbar arrangement. Not cheap but it is possible.
Cheers

Problem is that you need to take the van to them to have it made. AS handbook states that the dimensions of the habitation area in the Clubman could be +/- 25mm! so no towbar company can make one to buy off the shelf.

Re: towbar for AS Trophy
Hi
I did ask A/S for a price once to fit tow bar to Trophy, it was something like £250-300 plus the cost of the tow bar itself
