Toilet crisis
Part way through a weekend away in the Duetto, the toilet pump has packed up. No warning, no funny noises. All the fuses are ok... including the external one. Any tips?

Re: Toilet crisis
Fish out the pump and turn the impeller using a small screwdriver or similar, it may well be stuck. I have had this problem and it was easily fixed. If all else fails just use a kettle. teapot or similar to flush you loo until you get home.
Hope this helps.

I think you're Duetto is about the same age as ours was so has the small fuse box on the control panel. When our toilet wouldn't flush the fuse appeared ok but the contacts for the fuse were corroded. I sprayed the contacts with contact cleaner and changed all the fuses.
The emergency flush was the shower .

Re: Toilet crisis
Not an answer to you're problem but a senior moment with our Duetto.
On route to a site early in our motorhome days I decided a toilet break was needed. Break over, toilet won't flush , turn power on still no flush . Ok I can use the shower, nothing happening, turn water pump on, still no water. Ok leave it until we get on site.
As we drove onto the site we passed a motorhome filling there water tank. For some reason I had left home without filling the water tank. Of coarse management was the first to make an unprintable comment about having to wait to use the toilet.

Most likely cause
Hi, Slide the Waste tank out and back in a few times as there is a micro switch in the runner guides that stops the pump working if the tank is not in position, you can see the switch and clean it with WD40 as well. Don't forget the usual maintenance like spraying or greasing the release flap to keep it working freely.

Re: Toilet crisis
Hi Just had the same on mk7 duetto.
Pump rotor seized solid would not budge .
Replaced 3a fuse as blown under toilet compartment.
Be ware new pump comes with shorter lead so you have to crimp/solder and use sleeving to keep water out comes with pump if you buy thetford one.

Re: Toilet crisis
Not much help with the problem but this may make you chuckle.
A friend of mine was stuck in trafic on a motorway and of coarse management needed a toilet break. No problem use the onboard facilities. All done but toilet won't flush, no matter sort it when they get home. Of coarse whilst stuck in trafic the engine was running and this cuts off the domestic electrics hence no flush. It took both of us a while to figure this one.

Or you could indulge a bit of 'one-upmanship' and describe it as a Bidet.Dave 418 wrote:I think you're Duetto is about the same age as ours was so has the small fuse box on the control panel. Spray bottle of water works well, if pump backs up also handy to conserve water if cannot empty every day..
