Solar panels ?
Hi I have previously owned VW T2's and have had solar panels fitted to the roof (see picture) but I'm struggling to think where or if a solar panel would fit on the roof, have any topaz owners fitted solar panels, plus do you thinks it's safe to drill a hole through the roof, thanks in advance.

You can get panels in all sorts of sizes - for example these are only 285 wide:

so two of those each side, back-to-back for easy wiring, would give you a useful 80W.
Or Photonic Universe do some long thin ones that are only 350 wide, if that will fit.
You've obviously got to make a hole somewhere for the wiring, but my preference is just to stick them down rather than screwing them on. Ours has been stuck on with Sikaflex (can't recall the exact variant now) for several years no problem.
On the Trooper it's slightly easier because you can drill through the roof at the front outside the habitation area, but if you use a waterproof gland it should be Ok.

Thanks Roopert, will measure tonight, 80 watt should be fine as I could run my T2 when I took it round Spain and Portugal on 100 watt, that would power a coolbox, lights and chargers all day !!
