Ventilation in 2017 Kingham
We are about to buy a Kingham, it ticks so many of our boxes! However we are concerned that only 2 windows (apart from the driving cab section) open. This means that the sleeping area has no opening windows at all and we are worried that in hotter climes we will have no through ventilation and will find it stuffy. Has anyone any advice or comments on this please? Many thanks.

Don’t have kingham but do have similar size van on similar base.....don’t worry, there’s plenty vents.if fact just wait till you experience your first storm it it. You’ll be looking to plug all the gaps!
There are low level vents as standard. The roof lights have built in vents too. Iknow in ours there’s vents at the microwave....man it’s draughty! And there are vents built into the cooker.
I’m sure a kingham person won’t be long in advising.
Been out in all weathers and never really needed to leave windows open , never really feels stuffy inside. I would however, in calm conditions be happy to leave roof light open a little with insect screen engaged

Kingham owner here. Whilst there are no opening side windows to the rear there is adequate ventilation through the 3 opening windows in the roof. Having spent considerable time in warmer countries ie Morocco and Spain keeping cool and comfy has never been an issue for us in the Kingham.

I had similar thoughts about the Kingham before I ordered one and actually bought a small USB fan to plug in to the bedroom dresser USB socket for overnight ventilation in hot weather. It has never been used yet, as the Heki over the bed has proven sufficient so far.
I do think that an opening side window in the bedroom, same as the lounge windows, would be good and then the insect mesh fitted to those windows wouldn’t be redundant.

Thanks everyone for your very helpful advice, we actually went and bought a brand new Warwick! This has the same window arrangement so all the comments made by members are equally valid. Now very excited waiting for it to be ready.

Plenty of ventilation coming up through via the under bench seating in the rear, the fridge vents let loads of air in too! Two nights here on the cliffs in Whitby,we haven't had a problem with overheating, however I cannot comment on van tempertures and ventilation in a hotter climates.Moonraker wrote:Thanks everyone for your very helpful advice, we actually went and bought a brand new Warwick! They’re not cheap but the Endless Breeze 12V fan is worth its weight in gold.

( look around for better prices: we bought ours directly from USA)
They are almost silent, light and easily portable, shift a remarkable volume of air and can be left on all the time even with no EHU.
In really hot sunny weather cover the outsides of the windows facing the sun with a silvered car windscreen cover ( tapes slotted through the window closers, windows closed). In Morocco we even put an umbrella through the roof vent, opened it and it provided excellent shade to the roof vent.

New Warwick
We pick up our new Warwick Duo on Thursday so be interesting to compare notes once the initial excitement has dissipated. Ours is an unused 2018 model but I think the difference will be in the small details.

Cheers Boaby. Long before we had the coach built motorhomes we had a Commer Devon where we thought the foot operated water pump next to the sink was a mod con. If we aren't comfortable with all the features of a modern Auto Sleeper it's time we stayed home and watched telly all day!

We started of in an old 6 volt Splitty VW, 3 other VWs , Bedford Dormi with the infamous foot operated water foot pump, numerous caravans ,4 Autosleepers, we think the Warwick is the best we have had yet, should be our last.JulianWW wrote:Cheers Boaby.
