Why wouldn't this be under warranty on a van that age? The felt material surrounding my window frames fell away and they re glued that under warranty at around 18 months old.
I would be inclined to argue this.

I agree, that looks awful and absolutely should be covered under warranty, unless there has been accidental damage in the first place, which has caused the rest to come away.
I'll check mine closely later, but I was on my hands and knees yesterday, giving the carpet a good going over with my handheld Dyson and would have noticed if was as bad as yours Alan.

Hi Twiggy thanks, What I don't understand is that if you look at the heater vent on the right and left sides of the photo you can see that the leatherette is also coming unglued and even if it had been damaged (by the way you can't see any evidence of pre damage to the leatherette) it should not have come away the way it has. I woke up in the morning to find this, the van is nearly new only its second trip out. The people that supplied the van to me, sent a report and the two pictures to Auto-Sleeper stating that in their opinion the leatherette had come unglued and caused it to tear. After looking at the pictures and by the way in my opinion, not that closely they replied saying that I must have damaged it myself, that it was my fault and it would not be covered by the guarantee. I would have to pay for a complete new panel. Not impressed and really disappointed.Twiggy wrote:Why wouldn't this be under warranty on a van that age? Give AutoSleeper a ring and ask to speak to Alan Curry he's a very helpful guy and he is in a position to make decisions. I would not allow AS to get away with this and to be honest surprised they won't deal with it under warranty.

The latest Kingham’s have moved on from the leatherette finish and gone for a shiny plastic finish, which actually looks nicer than it sounds and is far more practical.
Unless the cost is eye watering, it’s something I’d consider to replace mine if I ever damage the leatherette, lifting heavy kit bags over the top edge.

Hi Alan. Did you ever get the issue resolved with AS? We have a similar issue that the dealer is refusing to rectify.

Strangely, Alan hasn't visited the forum since June 25th 2018 , so doubt you'll get a response.

I wonder if you've bought his van?

You're probably the same person that's posted the same problem on the FB group and I've posted this response on there but for others interested, exclusions for years 2 and 3 of the warranty are this...
"Interior and exterior transfers, coach lines,
decals and adhesive décor parts.
Interior and exterior surface finishes – including
all painted surfaces and heat shields"
