Display random light up
Hi, my ec480 display on a 17 plate Warick XL lights up 4 to 5 times a night if on hook up which wakes us up. We had the heating on low. Also now and again it lights up when I unlock using the central locking at night. It does turn itself off after 30 seconds.
If I turn the engine off at night it wakes up but does not turn off unless I turn the panel on and off. I spoke to Sargent about the last fault and they asked for the software version and confirmed that it did this on there test rig but there were no planned updates so no fix available!

Re: Display random light up
Mines still in warranty so keen to get a fix just in case it leads to future failure. I normally turn the panel off at night but on this occasion it was a bit too cold. I've altered the on time to 5 seconds but there is a 0 option but I'm worried that I might not be able to view it at all however 0 would be fine if it just means holding the button in. Why I was there I turned off the annoying beep for the buttons

Re: Display random light up
Am I the only one who keeps the display switched on all night?
I leave it on the clock display, then I know what time it is and it also doubles as a great night light for trips to the bathroom

Re: Display random light up
I contacted Sargent years ago about my display (EC328) randomly staying on. Guess what - they asked for the firmware version and told me that it was not a known issue but there were no plans to deal with it.
Since then I have realised that it usually happens if the engine is switched off. Pressing any button seems to restore the 10 second switch off.

Inspiredron, that's why I posted to see if it was a common issue. It doesn't bother me that much but it's definitely not right and I thought there might be future implications
