Re: Alko airtop mot failure?
I’m presuming so, as a marked (but not leaking) one resulted in an advisory.Pnefan wrote:Would a damaged airtop bellow result in a MOT failure?

Hmmmm, not sure as these tend to be ad ons and not every vehicle has them? Unless it specifies ‘if fitted’ but I’m also interested in the answer

So should it not even have been an advisory?

Re: Alko airtop mot failure?
I’ve tried to do some reading about it, from other forums too. What I take from other comments elsewhere is that the MOT test covers the suspension in general, but does not distinguish between the existing suspension and the alko added at time conversion......suspension is suspension regardless of type ? Of course this is only my interpretation and is more than likely incorrect lol
Here’s hoping someone who knows about such things will enlighten us

Might be included in section 5.3.5 of the MOT Tester's Manual?

Re: Alko airtop mot failure?
My MH failed it's MOT 3 years ago because one of the bags was burst. It took me months and a lot of money to get it fixed and get my MOT.
Went to a different MOT garage the next year and it passed. I took the oppertunity to discuss the previous year's fail and he said that added on air suspension was not part of the test.
I have detailed the saga in a previous post.

Re: Alko airtop mot failure?
Thanks for the link Ploughlin. Still isnt clear though. I asked the question as the dealer we bought from last October supplied the vehicle with a MOT even though the airtop wasnt working. Its going back for repairs again as despite one side having had the bellows replaced its again started to not hold the pressure.

Thanks to everyone for their comments and thoughts on the subject. I have the impression it shouldn't effect a MOT.
