Windscreen Covers
Hello
We're due to take delivery of a symbol plus next month and were wondering about external windscreen covers - aka mufflers.
Our experience with a previous van is that some of these covers can make it very difficult to enter the van through the front doors. This is potentially a problem with the Symbol plus since you would need to climb over the beds when entering through the sliding door. Does anyone have any experience of this? Can the doors still be opened and closed with external covers fitted?
Many Thanks
Des

Re: Windscreen Covers
On our DUO it is more or less impossible, BUT, we have the luxury of the sliding side door.

On my MB, I can open the door just enough to cancel the alarm, but couldn't open enough to gain entry.

Re: Windscreen Covers
I have the three part screens which are joined by Velcro hook/loop strips along the edges. From the inside of the cab it is possible to open the door enough to get your hands out and separate the Velcro strips towards the top of the screen which then allows the door to open further. Alternatively, the triangular parts on the inside which keep the screens against the door are split in half with Velcro strips to enable them to be adjusted - separating those would also allow the side section to slip off the door and hence allow the door to be opened.
If you were seeking to gain entry from the outside, simply separate the Velcro strips between the screen and relevant side door section.

My Taylor Made ones are also in three parts but the triangular portion that slips over the door is also split and joined by Velcro allowing easy egress.

Hello crosgor
Could you give me more details of your taylor made ones - did you make them yourself, or did you get them from a company?
Thanks

As Ploughlin answered, though mine are for the earlier iteration van, give them a ring with your requirements I think they really do tailor made ones also.DesG wrote:Hello crosgor
