Airbeam Awning/Poled awning
Hello All, Im wanting to replace my old awning as it does not fit my new Warwick XL so can anybody recommend a suitable one that's not too big, preferably with removable groundsheet but not essential . We are off to the NEC next week and will check them out .

You are spoiled for choice but can recommend Kampa that provide several options to suit your van. Regards.

I'm assuming you normally use sites rather then AIRES or wild camping.
The point being, you can really only use awnings on SITES

Has a sewn in groundsheet.......but I can vouch for Vango kela lll in the tall model. Fits our fairford great! Easy to put up and take down. Easy to get in back in its bag too. Downsize is that it’s kinda heavy when stowed, but I think that’s true on many of the awnings?

Outdoor revolution is good but does have its niggles. Ours is 3 years old and I know there have been some changes.
Our niggles. Centre pole can jamb in to the closed / short position. I have to remember to lock it within a couple of inches of fully slide together. It’s also high and I need a step to insert and extend it when putting the awning up.
The mud walls by the end doors do not Velcro to the side like the front door. Water has made its way in in bad weather. I now use boots etc to keep the mud wall upright at night.
We have the odd leak if we stretch it too tight with the guy lines.
Good points are
windows that zip out all round
Zip in curtains
Pumps up quick and never goes down
Comes with all straps needed. No hidden extras
Very tough
I can vouch for the last point after we left when we went out with only the guy lines not the storm straps in use.
We came back to find a freak gust of wind had tipped it and everything in it over. Luckily our neighbours stopping it from going too far. We pegged it out again, checked the pressures and all was well.
I’m sure that poles would have been bent or broken.
I always use the storm straps now when leaving it as a drive away!
As a bit of an after thought, we also have a utility tent that we use for week ends or if we dont feel like using the awning.
Also outdoor revolution. Goes up and down in 5 minutes And is perfect for storing things like wellies and the BBQ.
