Sprinter vans are narrow making longitudinal bed(s) mandatory, unless it is bespoke for the vertically challenged - like me.
Longitudinal beds mean realistically the minimum length van is 6m - that is why I bought a 5.4m Symbol - storage issue.
Rear wheel drive for a motorhome (Sprinter) is a benefit on grass pitches they also enable a level floor inside.
Sprinters are comparatively even more narrow at the top making depth of cupboard space restrictive.
I looked at a 5m long Adria Twin PVC which used the seats as part of the single beds. Storage and fitted appliances were very lacking even with that compromise.

Would love to see your storage pics/ideas for the Warwick Duo. Collect mine on 1st March, but how can I PM you as a guest. there is no info available how to do this.Guest wrote:Purdyhorse, or indeed anyone else on this thread, if you PM me with your own email address I'll send you many photos of what I have done to maximise the space in my Warwick Duo. There's far too many to put on here! Circa 30!!

Hi Gabjack
My initial concerns about downsizing from the previous larger vehicle were unfounded - there's proved to be more than adequate space for our needs.
The Warwick has been brilliant but initially I had real difficulties with the driving position. I am 6 feet tall and found the shower room bulkhead behind the driver's seat cramped me to the extent that I thought I was going to have to sell the vehicle, the back pain was so bad. Fortunately Alan Curry at Autosleepers' factory came to the rescue and introduced an alcove into the bulkhead which meant I now have plenty of space. A much cheaper option than replacing the vehicle .Should you experience the same difficulty you can come and have a look at the modification - we're only just down the road, near Malvern.
Hope you enjoy your Warwick as much as we do!

Same here. The Duo allowed the driver's seat to sit further back than the XL and the seat back could be reclined further.Paulmold wrote:That seating position problem shouldn't apply to the Duo as the washroom is on other side of van. I'm 5'11' and have no such issue on my Duo and seat could go back one more notch.

Re: Storage space in Warwick XL
Both our sleeping bags sit on the drivers seat with the pillows on the steering wheel during the day. I've fitted two nice coat hangers on the board behind and above the passengers seat which are really useful.
I've also made one straight cut in the panel under nearside bed/seat which easily lifts out to gain access to all that space behind it which I've also carpeted. When the panel is back in place you don't even see the cut unless you really look for it.
I also removed the original carpets and using them as templates cut new ones out from some nice carpet we got cheap which just happened to be pretty much the same colour. The idea being, if and when we sell the van the original ones can go back and also don't fret too much if something does accidently get spilled.
But one of the best things I did was to cut the large table abut one third from the end, fitted a piano hinge then a folding leg. So, during most of the day and at night it stay's in place then when we have our evening meal I just lift the tube out of it's socket spin the table round. lift up the hinged section drop the folding leg and we've instantly got a full size table. It also stays in place when we travel with no problem at all it also means the small table stays at home (less weight).
It does make me wonder though and considering I'm no genius why the designers at AS didn't come up with the same or or similar idea. It means one less table to manufacture or carry and also the benefit of not always having to swop tables around.
Hope you enjoy your WXL as much as we do.

Hi IanH...
Really interested to see your ideas, but every time i type in your suggestion, it keeps bringing back to this thread.
Is there anywhere else I can search for your post?
By the way, mine is a Duo not an XL, hence the storage space issues.....

I am 6’ 1” and drive a WXL and found I gained an extra bit of rearward movement of the drivers seat when I removed the material pocket that was fastened to the bathroom wall behind the drivers seat, makes it so more comfortable to drive nowpurdyhorse wrote:It's 3 years since I made the original post and during that time we have got to know our Warwick XL very well. Search worked fine.
Don't think my new van has a table mounted on the back door, but as I haven't got it from the dealer yet (1st March hopefully), maybe can't use that idea.
Several posters suggest storing the large table on the left inside of the wardrobe and moving the small one to the right inside wall (turned 90degs) as it is a * Inappropriate Word * to remove from the overcab space, and store bedding there instead. Seems like a good move to me.
Until I take delivery, I'm not sure whether some of the other mods have been taken up by A/S, so I'll find out in due course.
Thanks again for the tips.....
Happy camping

Re: Storage space in Warwick XL
We keep plastic sealable storage bags from Lakeland Plastics that hold spare towels, dishtowels. Cleaning cloths etc. They wedge the table in place and are easy to remove when the table is needed.
For a while we wedged a special wedge shaped pillow that my wife uses to help with her fibromyalgia above the table, which had the added advantage of providing a cushioned edge to prevent banging head getting into the cab. No longer need to carry the big wedge since we had a smaller custom one made that travels on rear seat.

It is my opinion that making the rear panel removable is and easier mod and gives better access. Totally agree it’s a good upgrade.
