When did they stop making duetto on Ford chas
hi everyone. Interested in a Duetto as a first van/MH but wondered what the most recent van would be should one come up for sale. Any ideas and what to look out for. I don’t really want anything more than 10 yrs old but this layout looks a good layout! Cheers Phil

A big thankyou to all you wise AS people! Sincerely appreciate your time and effort to respond.
I’m thinking 2010 versions will be extremely sought after. The 2007 one in blue on here looks v nice.

( the 2007 looks very nice)
IMHO the fwd Marquis 12 were rather basic, conversion wise, compared to the ones up to and including boabys

Hello. I had a 2009 Transit on Hobby. Only 13000 miles and blew hole in piston. Overfuelling. Injectors. Expensive engine rebuild.
Be aware this problem affected many continental built motorhomes.
Problem of holing pistons was on Ford Transit forum. Fiat X250 engine seems more dependable.
Good luck. Ian

Nothing wrong with fwd Alan, mine is a Marquis 37 th Anniversary edition and runs a lot better than the Puggies I've had.gemdeco wrote:Hi

Ouch!! That's bad after so little mileage.IanD wrote:Hello. I had a 2009 Transit on Hobby. Only 13000 miles and blew hole in piston. Overfuelling. Injectors. Expensive engine rebuild.

The Mk4 and 5 with the 2.5 Tdi may well be an old engine and 'agricultural' by more current diesels, but their reputation as "bullet proof" is well proven and 'inter galactic' mileage on commercial Tranny vans was commonplace.
